Robert Natkin was an American-born abstract painter whose work is linked to Abstract Expressionism, Color Field Painting and Lyrical Abstraction.
He was born in Chicago and since the early 1950s has been creating paintings that are in the permanent collections of major museums as well as in corporate and private collections. His works have been exhibited in leading galleries in the USA, Europe and Japan. His work has been widely reviewed by the critic Peter Fuller.
He lived in Connecticut with his wife, the painter Judith Dolnick. Robert "Bob" Natkin loved to paint and, according to the Akron Art Institute, Akron, Ohio, sang gospel.
